Cookie Crumb Review

In the early days, when we had no money (wait we still have no money) we acquired the pop up camper shown above. Pa had a slight backing problem with it, danged fence gate. Somehow a foot long tear appeared. We were about to leave on the biggest vacation in our young lives. A drive from here to California, then up the coast from San Diego to San Francisco, and back. A nearly three week camping vacation for the family.
So we had no time to get it fixed. Pa cut a small piece of outdoor plywood, and Ma decided to make it a name plate thingie (Ma has always covered for Pa). She looked at the kids eating cookies, and lettered the sign. “Cookie Crumb Express”. The we made the tiny footprints on it. We applied seals to the back and attached it. Presto… dignity restored
Off we went on a great western camping adventure. In the photo is Pa and Ma holding Chris. Ner (Jenny) is in back of Pambo, then Mike behind Ram ( Ram minor) and of course the trusty potty chair.
Life was good. Life is good.
And so much for the Cookie Crumb Express, we towed it with a huge Ford LTD Wagon. And yes we did get a lot of giggles when we passed people and they saw the kids, and the sign that said “Cookie Crumb Express.”

What a great story and picture to go with it! And as all of us *cough* LADIES know, it is our job to cover for the men in our lives….and IMO there is no better job to have!
You are a much more patient man than my dad ever was. There is no way he’d drive a long way and then camp…he always drove straight thru to visit fam and farmed all of us out as fast as he could
Happy 231st Birthday Pa!! Semper Gratis Sir!

Wonderful times.
Yes, Ma and I have 5 lil ones. We have 5 grandkids one on the way.
And this trip was a slow wandering one. We wanted the kids to see the USA. Okay the littlest ones don’t remember much.
So we did it a few more times later.
