Frustrating

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

We would all like to be in DC on the 17 of March to stand with those who protect the “Wall” from the Barking Moonbats, the Commie Pinko Pukes and other disloyal and unpatriotic types who live off the luxury of this great country but are not Americans … they are trators.

But we can’t be there. Fortunately we can be at the Parade here on the 10th in support of  Soldier’s Angels. At least 9 of us. All we will do is walk alongside their float, but at least it is something.

I still hope to be in DC for at least one Friday this summer to stand on the street in front of Walter Reed Hospital, to oppose Code Pink there, and let the Wounded Warriors know how grateful we all are for their sacrifice.

Cars & Trucks

Tuesday, February 27th, 2007

Life is fulla cars, and trucks. They come and they go. Somewhere inbetween they become part of our families. I still remember how I missed the first car we had. It was a 1947 Chrysler. What a tank.

Here we have Emily saying goodbye to the ole truck that she rode home in from Idaho waaaaaaaay back when the folks moved back home. So long Ole Silver.

Emily

Poor Ole Silver got rearended minding his own business parked out front of the house in the middle of the night.  And below is Maisie taking one final turn around the imaginary block in the Truckee.

Maisie

Meanwhile Noah is inside the workshop crafting the future …. a pinewood derby race car. Safety glasses however big are a requirement …. you know how them OSHA guys are.

Noah

Yanno it’s a lot easier doing this when you get big enough to not have to stand on a cooler …. course by that point you are too old to enter.

Big events in the lives of little people.

Life is Good.

Whut da Hell is that?

Dawn was breaking, our warriors were sleepin in. It was their second chance to do that in quite awhile. Their barracks is outside the Magical Forest.

All of a sudden there was a strange and erie noise. Roused from their sleep they one by one peered out the window to look down and see what it was.

They blinked and focused on the ground where there was a really strange sight. A detail of female soldiers …. in formation …. doing cadence. Ram said it was somewhere between high pitched catterwallin and the song of the sirens.

So because they were up … they watched as they moved off in the distance. Never allow good ogling to pass you by unappreciated.

Then they were gone (the detail of long haired air fresheners). Once again all was quiet, and the warriors went back to bed.

Update on Pistol

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

Pistol, like DeaconJones is in Fort Lewis Washington.  The unit he is in hasn’t gotten their Strykers yet. So they are training on Stryler systems, conducting battle drills and working hard.

Word is that Pistol is being put in for a promotion and is gonna be working as a team leader.

You go Pistol!!!

Friday Night Party

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

Well we have it via an excellent source that Friday night’s BBQ was just the best yet. Doc and Ma Doc (S1) invited a bunch of the guys over. Twelve of them showed up. In addition one brought a wife and another brought a girl friend. There was a goodly crowd.

Everyone brought steaks and Doc had a grill set up so they could cook them on. Food for the body.

Food for the soul came into play too.  First it was in the form of Doc’s air soft M4, like a bunch of kids they all had a chance to launch single and automatic bursts of plastic BB’s.

Then nurf guns replaced the air soft and it lead to the breaking of rule 7 and rule 8. Rule 7 is never point the nurfgun at anyone, and rule 8 is never shoot nurf guns in the house.

Ram thinks Ma Doc will be conducting retraining sessions on rule 7, and 8  to B’s 1 -4 now that the Animals are gone.

After B’s 1-4 laid down for the night things quieted down and the guys watched a movie. By the sound of Ram’s voice, it had to be one of the most relaxing and refreshing weekends they have ever had.

Lets go get Ben Laden

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

Well there I was with Ma at the grocery store. We were buyin a salad thingie to go with some shimp we bought for supper.

I was wearing a wind breaker thing with a Marine Corps Logo on it. The guy behind the counter leaned towards me and asked if I was in the Marines. You alway know when that happens whatever comes next till be ……. interesting.  I told him yes. He asked me why I didn’t go over there and get Ben Laden. I assumed he missed the obvious … that I am nearly 60 years old. Then he said with proper machismo, “I got 3 or 4 guys who are willing to go over there with me and get him. There is a $25 million dollar bounty on him yanno.”

The obvious question then became, “So why don’t you go do it?”

It came down to …….. transportation. He didn’t know how to get him and his posse over there.

Sometimes little details like that … save the lifes of fools like him and his buddies.

No I didn’t volunteer to pay his way, God looks out for fools and drunks.

Saturday Night outside the Magical Forest

Sunday, February 25th, 2007

Doc and S1 are providing safe haven for the guys. They invited a number of them over to their house to barbeque steaks in the back yard.

I knew S1 would be a den mother. I am sure that all the guys love to hang out with a family and cook a steak.

Yes the guys are all takin a steak to cook. It would not be polite to not do that.

I know they all liked their few hours with Doc, S1 and the boys.

Bless you all guys.

Field Update

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

Ram and Mowgli are in from the exercise. Ram swears that the Army controls the temperature in the Magic Forest. Today it was 70 degrees. Up till today it was 20 and a tad below. You know what that means…. it means when you are not allowed to wear “snivel gear” and you lay in ….. in an ambush. The ground sucks all the heat from your body in nothing flat.

And since in the last couple of days they were allowed something like one MRE …… I cannot begin to tell you how much they are looking forward to ….. waitresses and a steak or two.

Funny thing … if your last steak was 3 weeks ago …. they taste really good when you actually get one … or three.

Bring on the eyecandy and the food!!!

Everybody loves a Parade

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

This parade that is upcoming is a Snake Saturday Parade.  You know associated with the St. Patrick’s Day wingding. It’s on the 10th of March here in town.  Well anyway Soldier’s Angels is sponsoring a float. They were lookin for more folks to walk with the float.

Enter Pa and Ma. Yup Yup we can walk, we’re in. Now to check with the kids and grandkids to see who else wants some.

We think Pete is gonna get back her on the 11th of March, so maybe it will help Pam if we take the kids out and let her get ready round the house.

Of course you know how the Army is.  The 11th of March is a target date. We are all keeping our fingers crossed, but, he will be here when he is here. As many of you know his tour in the Sandbox has been extended, and that is why he is getting a couple of weeks of R&R here at home.

Stay tuned friends, upcoming soon is the story of the guy from the grocery store who plans to go capture Osama Bend Over and collect that $25 million in bounty money.

I can hardly wait!

Oh …….. and hopefully Ram and Mowgli will be coming out of the Magical Forest tomorrowish. Next week if memory serves … the beginning of the French lessons … so ladies standbye to help with those French words you have been banding about.

:)
