Miss Eva. Ain’t she cute …. okay so we are prejudiced.

Okay what is it about girls and mirrors? Even this small they notice them.

I love the stylish tilt of her hat.

Cute girls.

Daddy’s girl … shhhhhhhhh.

I just got back from Washington on Monday and yes it is very cold there!
Glad to be back on the Eastern seaboard! Deacon Jones is settling in with his newest job. He was given the job of eyes for a Stryker but, decided to take a different route, he’s now part of the Admin department for his platoon and will be trying to enter the medical field soon!
As always, the guys are in our hearts and prayers!
We were just thinking about you and poof here you are!!! You guys are in our prayers too S2.
As we peer into the Magical Forest, Ram, Mowgli (the child raised in the jungle by animals) et all were about to enter the halfway point of their last week. Thank God for a little warm up in the weather, we hope it touched the Magical Forest too.
The last of this week is where the rubber meets the road for our warriors. I guarantee by Friday they will be feeling it. This is still “natural selection” the Army way.
There is a young lady in my class who’s brother joined the Army about the same time as Ram and Mowgli. Initially he wanted to go to Ranger School. I don’t believe he made it, but he got assigned to 2 ID in Fort Lewis Washington the same place where DeaconJones, and Pistol ended up. I guess it’s really cold there too, and rainy. Anyway they are now all Jump Qualified Infantry types. They are involved with the workup for deployment to the Sandbox. I am not sure if they are caught up in the surge, but they will be heading that way soon. I think they are Stryker types now. So think of them now and then.
Side note Strykers are a slighly larger version of the USMC Light Armored Vehicle (LAV) but they have no waterborn capability. That part I never figgured out.
Time for the family to gather, and witness the baptism of Eva Marie. But before we start we would like to thank “Aunt Vonda” for standing in for camera orientation for Ner. Ner was learning photography with this camera OJT. So thank you Vonda for helping us retain our focus.

Some places have stained glass windows but St Ann’s sorta abused the priviledge

Different things are important to kids than to adults, maybe that’s because they are closer to the experience and remember crutial things like water temperature. So before the Baptism procedes the kids demand to go make sure that the water is not too cold, and not too hot, but that is it just right. Eva’s cousins are looking out for her.

That done …. the Baptism is allowed to proceed

No no that’s not me on the left, it’s Ram, and no no he didn’t age 30 years, I am standing in for him, as you know he is in the Magical Forest. Ram and Pambo are Eva’s Godfather and Godmother.

And now we are finished, Eva has been welcomed into the Church.

Good thing you can push a few tables together and make a little room.

Power drinkers Pa and Ma in the after Baptism afterglow.

And since in reworking and repairing this blog the comments were lost. We saved them and will paste them in below here.
Congratulations, Eva, parents, Godparents and Grandparents. Ram couldn’t’ve had a better stand-in.Certainly the protective cousins are just a blessing. What a beautiful day and we finally got to see the real Ma and Pa, too. Great pictures!
Thank you mam you are too kind.
What a beautiful family! Great pics there Ma and Pa!
Thank you Bridget, it’s the best family we have.
Wow! I missed the party….again. *sigh* Grats to all involved, especially Eva. Pa, you really do have a beautiful family, but you KNEW that already! BTW….you SO look like a teacher
Welcome back Diva. Woman of many journeys.
We are once again making repairs to the blog … we will return you to normal broadcast shortly

(mär´dē grä) , last day before the fasting season of Lent. It is the French name for Shrove Tuesday. Literally translated, the term means “fat Tuesday” and was so called because it represented the last opportunity for merrymaking and excessive indulgence in food and drink before the solemn season of fasting. In the cities of some Roman Catholic countries the custom of holding carnivals for Mardi Gras has continued since the Middle Ages. The carnivals, with spectacular parades, masked balls, mock ceremonials, and street dancing, usually last for a week or more before Mardi Gras itself. Some of the most celebrated are held in New Orleans, Rio de Janeiro, Nice, and Cologne. But needless to say it’s colder than a well digger’s ….. assets. So this year Barbara and Margaret (Those fun loving Packers Cheer Leaders) had to have their Mardi Gras party inside.
Honest to Pete (no not you Pete or you either Repete) the girls give us a warm glow every time.Baptism Sunday!!
Tomorrow we board the magic bus and travel to the city in the east and gather to celebrate the Baptism.
Gotta love that lil Eva Marie girl.
Photos will follow ….. either Sunday night or Monday.
Ram and Mowgli are fine. They are having fun in the bushes and weeds. This evolution only goes on for one more week. Unlike Jump School, they are once again carrying real weapons and learning more about how to employ them.
After talkin to Ram, I am impressed at the high professional level of the training. They are doing things that guys who have been in a whole lot longer never do. This course is anything but “Dumbed Down”.
Weather note. It is unseasonably cold in the Magical Forest this year. Temperatures down to the low double digits. That Global Warming is killin us. I sure wish Al Gore would hurry up with his end of the world hot stuff (The Sky is Falling, The Sky is Falling …. shuttup Al)
Life is good.
Thanks to all you good people who come here and visit and leave comments. We are all family.
God Bless you all.
And you know who you are. You may have noticed that the stuff you tried to post on this blog, never showed up. I know by what you write you have limited intelligence, so let me explain a few things to you.
Thing one this is a small family blog.
Thing two I only allow comments to show up here that I choose to. Those comments are our friends and our extended family.
Don’t look for what you call fairness or balance here. I pick and choose what I want.
If you want to spew vile unpatriotic crap, get your own blog.
And lastly I would like to say……… Eat Dirt and Die.
