Magical Forest Update

The guys took a break for Easter and are already on the way back. Ram is having a great time. He is totally in his element. As you know the circle of regulars has been broken up more and more.  However there are two new characters. The first one we will call Dawg. Mike voted for Treckie, but after due consideration I like Dawg better. Dawg is a former Marine. He got out before 911 and like so many got ticked at the Fundamuslimists and hooked up in the Army for a shot at the Magical Forest and the rough transition. And note to Karen ….. Dawg.. Sgt US Army, formerly USMC … is also a Cheesehead….. brief pause here for Karen to do the happy dance.

We like Dawg he has a real sense of humor, and inborn competence. Like so many in the pipeline now, he is a Sgt.

There is another guy in the group. He is 49 years old …. yup you got it 49 years old and tryin to make it through this stuff. As you know this evolution is mainly survival of the fittest. Obviously you must have prior service to get into the Magical Forest at this age and he has plenty. We will call him Gramps. Gramps has served in a few militaries of our allies too.  We hope his body holds together long enough to make it.

And there is still the “O”. The”O” is former Air Force. Training is extreemly hard on him too. Say a prayer for Gramps and the “O” they can use a little divine intervention.

What a mix eh? All share one thing in common. Patriotism, and a desire to make it through.  One time Major B was being encouraged to run for Congress. I suggested he was too much of a ‘pure warrior’ to be tainted by politics. And .. he is.

Well anyway …. 4 more weeks to go in the Magical Forest on this go round.  Then onward and upward. I can’t believe how fast this year is going

Thanks for the time to do the happy dance. You are so considerate, Pa. And of course I’m proud of all of them.Ram always manages to surround himself with interesting patriots. Of course the Packer cheerleaders almost flipped their Easter bonnets when they heard about Dawg.Happy Easter, everyone!

Welcome and good luck to all the new additions! In fairness, I just hafta cheer for Gramps! All the young pups can just call it age discrimination;-) My BIL was Air Force during Viet Nam and he’s also a *mumble* cheesehead. Having known him forever, I must ask…is “O” for uh oh???

I knew you would do the “Happy Dance” Karen along with Barbara and Margaret.

“O” is for Officer SK, and sometimes it is also for OH OH!

This “O” is an O-3 on the payscale … like Major B used to be when we first got to know him.

Well now, I say it’s never too late to do what you dream of. Go for it Gramps!

Did anyone else get an email from Maj Pain about been drinkin’ beer for 10 days with Marines and now needing water? Sometimes that boy worries me! By-the-way…check out the photos of the CMC’s Xmas Party on the CMC’s site. Who was front and center in the reddest shirt I’ve ever seen? That bad boy Maj Pain and his honey!

Ram, Dawg, Gramps, and O. We should be able to come up some fitting acronym for our crew of Warriors!

    Sam

Gramps is a tough ole bugger …. formerly a Sgt Major in an allied Army. He might actually make it. I am amazed he is there.

I didn’t get any beer email from the good Major but if he has been on a 10 day beer blast I bet he does need water :)

I am gonna go look around on the site for him.

And about the acronyms .. I hear you. The guys. They have just started workin on giving each other nick names. All the names used here I just conjured up so I wasn’t working with actual names.

So it is a work in progress. They are just starting to work in teams too. I am sure there will be a lot of changing around over then next few months.
