Mowgli Update

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Well then Mowgli just completed a 7 week evolution …. good thing he is young and tough. He made it just fine. That’s the good news.

Monday he heads out for a very tough three week grind. That’s the bad news. Good thing he is young and tough. We know he will make it.  After that …. language and MOS Training.

Mowgli and Ram got to have some dinner and shoot the breeze tonight.

Life is good.

Doc should finish that three week thingie next Friday.

Letters from the Desert

Friday, June 15th, 2007

I recently attended a showing of “Spiderman 3″ here at LSA Anaconda. We have a large auditorium we use for movies as well as memorial services and other large gatherings. As is the custom back in the States, we stood and snapped to attention when the National Anthem began before the main feature. All was going as planned until about three-quarters of the way through the National Anthem the music stopped.

Now, what would happen if this occurred with 1,000 18-22 year-olds back in the States? I imagine there would be hoots, catcalls, laughter, a few rude comments, and everyone would sit down and call for a movie. Of course, that is, if they had stood for the National Anthem in the first place.

Here, the 1,000 Soldiers continued to stand at attention, eyes fixed forward.

The music started again. The Soldiers continued to quietly stand at attention. And again, at the same point, the music stopped. What would you expect to happen? Even here I would imagine laughter as everyone sat down and expected the movie to start.

Here, you could have heard a pin drop. Every Soldier stood at attention. Suddenly there was a lone voice, then a dozen, and quickly the room was filled with the voices of a thousand Soldiers

And the rockets red glare, the bombs bursting in air,

gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.

O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,

o’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

It was the most inspiring moment I have had here in Iraq. I wanted you to know what kind of Soldiers are serving you here.

Yea I know

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Writing to this guy is like trying to talk to a fireplug. But I want him to know there are some of us who think his time in the Congress should be over.

Another Dear Denny Letter.

“Just a few things.

1. My email address is webworksjh@sbcglobal.net. You have been snail mailing me with your responses and sucking up assets of the US Postal service when you could respond by email …. hellooo? we are in the computer age here.

2. Your employee lmh responded to two of my letters with the exact same letter. Yea that’s right I got two copies of the same letter in the mail from you via lmh. It would be insulting if it weren’t so stupidly embarassing on your staff’s part.

3. Here is a video you should see on how your “aid and comfort” program on behalf of Nancy (I am the Queen) Pelosi, and Harry the R is playing where I live. No wonder Harry’s popularity is 19% eh and so will be everyone elses who goes down his road.

Nine more days till Ssgt Pete departs the sandbox for the wilds of Mississippi. Hey even Mississippi is better than over there.

Ssgt Pete will be in Mississippi for somewhere near 4-5 days, and then he will process out and back to civilian life for now. We will all be glad to see him back in the USA. I am sure there will be a party or two. Film at 11.

Bits and Pieces

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

Well, one of the things that the guys in the Magical Forest learn early is they just don’t talk about what they do. When asked in a steakhouse or the mall or whever, they are Infantrymen. They shut the conversation down about that point.

One of the burdens of their field is they just don’t talk about it. They hold it all in their small family, their band of brothers.

Update on the “O”. The “O” was, as you know recycled. He was not a good fit for this kind of work. His background was USAF, and NG. It’s not his fault he was not seasoned or experienced in the skill set he needed. He just wasn’t. Madam French instructor asked about him. She did not seem to be surprised by the response. “So … ze “O” es a fishie in the woods?” She has a way with words doesn’t she. I think I like that better than a fish out of water… what do you think?

Of Ram’s buddies we have no idea where “Redneck” went. No one seems to know if he ever passed the swim test.  Hopefully in another week and a half we will have a much better grasp on where everyone is.

Life goes on.

Fishing Update

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Saturday is the first designated fishing day of the year. Oh yea we will have photos. And more important, we will have fun.

Chris Update

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Chris is loving his new position. He is doing well and he is selling work on the side. And the work is very impressive.

Eva was down with the bug, but she is beginning to do better. When someone that small hurts we all hurt.

Trooper Update

Monday, June 11th, 2007

The countdown is 12 days before Ssgt Pete leaves the Sandbox for the states, Mississippi to be sure.  But even Mississippi is safer than the Persian Gulf.

Ram is now learning his MOS training. He loves his life.

Things have a purpose.

Prayer for the Armed Forces

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Almighty God,we commend to your gracious care and keeping all the men and women of our armed forces at home and abroad.  Defend them day by day with your heavenly grace; strengthen them in their trials and temptations, give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Dennis (just call me Nancy) Moore cont’d

Monday, June 11th, 2007

Nancy as in Pelosi. Everything about Mr Moore is a distortion. Page one of doublespeak is located here.

From the start it is an attempt to rewrite history. Everything is George Bush’s fault. The congress is tryin to save us all. Yes Moore voted to send the troops to Iraq cause he didn’t want to be seen as a lacy pants woosie. Now he senses personal gain in becoming a Barking Moonbat stop the war special.

In paragraph one of page one he explains how the good congress wanted to get money for Hurricane Katrina (he doesn’t mention the other pork they stuffed in there) and put an end date on the war. Remember this war can always be stopped with one signature … it’s called a surrender.

In paragraph two, the redeploy mantra is used. How unresponsible it is for President Bush to actually do what he said he would do and veto that piece of crap. Congressthings never do what they say they will do, so who would think anyone else would …. obviously the president’s tactics are out of the ordinary. Again Saint Dennis (the Nancy) Moore is tryin to protect the troops by leading the retreat.

Page 2

Dennis (aka Nancy) Moore continues to use endless distortions to build himself up and knock President Bush.

Page 3

Again Nancy … I mean Dennis is glad I wrote and please continue. I think that his letter writer (lmh) put that part in cause that way he/she/it has job security. It’s called writing fiction to cover DennisNancy’s butt.

Now, allow me to point out a couple of things.

1. Doing what he did greatly gave aid and comfort to the terrorists.

2. Running away like Clinton did in Somalia, encouraged and motivate Ben Ladin and friends like nothing else. Imagine what it will do in Iraq.

3. Moore, Nancy, Harry all care about themselves. They are all liars and they only want personal gain. They are a danger to the entire country.

4. Ram is correct sending out the same letter twice is definitely a sign that voters are shit and don’t count.
