EeeeeHah Calvary for me
Right to the photos.

Where it all begins. Peter’s saddle (foreground with the red blanket) weighs as much if not more than he does.

Peter has never been this close to a horse in his life. He might have been a tad concerned but he did everything he was told.

Julie likes her horse.

Lordy these things are heavy .. hard to throw a saddle and not go with it.

Tightning things up

Thank God for a little help from a good teacher.

Time to move to the corale and mount up.

Learning to use stirups. As I was told if your butt hurts the stirups are too long. If your knees hurt the stirups are too short. If your butt and your knees hurt, the stirups are just right.

Listening to instructions

Trying things out some.
And of course the exercise ended with unsaddling and putting up the equipment in it’s proper place. The key to this is repetition, and we plan to do some.
Life is good.

I had a great time too …. you and Peter did a great job. That young lady who was riding and exercising those two tan colored horses told me she was about your age when she started.
She said the horse seemed really really big to her and she was a little afraid of it.
You couldn’t tell it now she works there.

This post was mistitled. I didn’t see Pa in there anywhere. Everybody else did a great job. Peter and Julie have to be the most versitile kid there are. It seems they can do anything they try.

Just a small note to say that Peter and Julie look cute. I’m very thankful that grandpa took the time to take these two little people out for a ride.

Horses are like people in that each one is different. i hope ya get Smokey again too. It makes it more fun when you get to learn with the same horse. If ya change horses they might not react the same as the one you were used to. Like dogs. LOL when i whistle, daisy comes… when anyone else wistles… she runs away LOL.
