Good News!
This is from Gateway Pundit. It is about Karl Rove stepping down. It is part of his bye bye speech:
In the interview, Mr. Rove said he expects Democrats to give the 2008 presidential nomination to Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, whom he described as “a tough, tenacious, fatally flawed candidate.” He also said Republicans have “a very good chance” to hold onto the White House in next year’s elections.
Mr. Rove also said he expects the president’s approval rating to rise again, and that conditions in Iraq will improve as the U.S. military surge continues. He said he expects Democrats to be divided this fall in the battle over warrantless wiretapping, while the budget battle — and a series of presidential vetoes — should help Republicans gain an edge on spending restraint and taxes.
I agree with Karl, further I am grateful that the presidental hopefuls started so very early. Already the Dems are scoring low numbers in their TV debates. Their stuff is wearing thin. Daily Kos is being outted as what they are, and they all push further left to court votes in the primary.
In the mean time others note their extreemism. Key to any election is the “independent voters”. They tend to not be extreemists in any direction. They tend to be turned off by this crap.
In the meantime Fred Thompson and more significantly Newt are sitting in the wings waiting. Of these two I think Newt is the most capable. Entering the primary in November when the others have run out of things to say and have hit their plateau, he stands a good chance of making things work. Fred’s inaction is starting to turn people off.
So the louder the left gets, the worse their chances. The more the surge works, the slimmer their chances. Collateral damage should go to the flunkies like Congressman Moore who do Queen Nancy’s bidding for a pat on the head, and those who follow Harry (we’ve already lost) Reid’s misdirection.
I think Rove is right that conservatives stand to gain.

Newt’s shabby treatment of his wives, one in particular will come back to kick him in the butt and only serve to raise the coffers of every organization that has reason to oppose him. Back to Petraeus or some yet to be disclosed mystery person.

I think you are right about Newt Karen.
