“Father of slain Marine wins case against funeral protesters

Pa. man awarded nearly $11 million in compensatory and punitive damages

By Matthew Dolan | Sun reporter 5:54 PM EDT, October 31, 2007

The brokenhearted father of a Marine killed in Iraq won a long-shot legal fight today after a federal jury in Baltimore awarded him nearly $11 million in a verdict against members of a Kansas church who hoisted anti-gay placards at his son’s Westminster funeral.

The jury’s announcement 24 hours after deliberations first began was met with tears and hugs from the family and supporters of Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder, whose March 2006 funeral was protested by members of the Westboro Baptist Church with signs including “Thank God for dead soldiers.”

Snyder’s father, Albert, won on every count of his complaint, as well as $2.9 million for compensatory damages and $8 million for punitive damages.”

Thank You God. I think this guy’s reponse to these Moonbats should be the response of everyone treated like these good people were. Bankrupt the Morons!

This is what sits at the top of the University of Delaware AKA Mind Police U. They hate America. How the Hell was this allowed to happen? Why is the University of Delaware still funded?

“University to students: ‘All whites are racist’
Mandatory program ‘treats’ politically incorrect attitudes

A mandatory University of Delaware program requires residence hall students to acknowledge that “all whites are racist” and offers them “treatment” for any incorrect attitudes regarding class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality they might hold upon entering the school, according to a civil rights group.

“Somehow, the University of Delaware seems terrifyingly unaware that a state-sponsored institution of higher education in the United States does not have the legal right to engage in a program of systematic thought reform. The First Amendment protects the right to freedom of conscience – the right to keep our innermost thoughts free from governmental intrusion. It also protects the right to be free from compelled speech,” said a letter from Samantha Harris, director of legal and public advocacy for The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education to university President Patrick Harker. ”

This Crap is Sick …. they continue…

“A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. ‘The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality. By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination….’”

The education program also notes that “reverse racism” is “a term created and used by white people to deny their white privilege.” And “a non-racist” is called “a non-term,” because, the program explains, “The term was created by whites to deny responsibility for systemic racism, to maintain an aura of innocence in the face of racial oppression, and to shift the responsibility for that oppression from whites to people of color (called ‘blaming the victim’).”

Pirate is Greek for Rapid Fire Target

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

NAIROBI, Kenya — A pair of American warships battled pirates Tuesday who had seized a tanker off the coast of Somalia, reportedly sinking two pirate vessels and pursuing a hijacked skiff carrying some of the fleeing hijhackers.

The crew of the tanker Golden Mori, which was hijacked Monday night, reportedly fought back and overpowered their attackers, regaining control of the vessel, maritime officials said.

On Sunday, the destroyer USS Porter responded to a distress call from the Golden Mori that it was under attack from two pirate skiffs in international waters off the coast of Somalia near the Socotra islands in the Indian Ocean. The destroyer, on loan to an international task force aimed at stopping piracy and terror in the region, responded with deadly force, sinking both vessels, officials said.

The Porter’s sister ship, the USS Arleigh Burke, reportedly was pursuing the escaping hijackers and providing an escort for the Japanese-owned tanker.”

Sounds like to me the Porter had all the fun. Good shooting guys.

Waterboarding as a Hobby

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Only with Democrats. Two Maroon brothers in Dem Underground wanted to prove it’s torture. So they did it to each other. Over and over and over.

They proved two things;

Thing one it isn’t lethal.

Thing two it’s obviously still effective even if you are a crackhead like these two idiots.

“I was thinking about the AG confirmation and how Mukasey isn’t certain that waterboarding constitutes torture. And then I started thinking about how Rudy Giuliani doesn’t believe waterboarding is torture either.

So I figured I’d find out for myself. I mean if it isn’t torture, it can’t be that bad, right?

Let me tell you this, it’s not pleasant. And we were operating under circumstances where we absolutely knew that the other person wasn’t going to kill us with the technique.

I was wiped out after four tries. My best time was 20 seconds, and I literally gritted it out. It took about all I had, so much so that right afterward on my last try I barely lasted 9 seconds.

My brother tried it a few more times than I did. He beat me on average times, but his highest was 18 seconds.

I would say that if somebody was repeatedly waterboarded it would not take a whole helluva lot to break them. Immediately a person feels panicked, and that’s without the additional fear of thinking that their captors are actually trying to murder them. It’s a pretty harrowing ordeal for the time that you are being subjected to it.

It’s definitely torture. And if anybody doesn’t believe it, then they should try it themselves. According to an ABC news report CIA officers who subject themselves to it only last an average of 14 seconds. And those are people who are trained to withstand different types of torture.”

Hopefully next time they will try the same experiment with thumbscrews, or cutting off appendages. Or perhaps that age old goodie laying themselves down under a tank tread while the tank rolls forward very slowly.

By the way I ususally link to these things but I don’t want them to get extra hits.

Yanno I just realized something. These guys are just two more cases of waterboarding caused by that evil Bush guy. He caused them to do themselves. Man is he good or what?

Dumb and dumber.

Continuing down the Ghost Mountain trail

New Guinea was a living Hell. All those “Save the Rainforest” Maroons should be required to live there for a year. Multiple strains of malaria, dozens of other jungle rot diseases, beriberi, open sores pathogens of all stripes and dysentery. Mountains rising past 9,000 feel multiple ridges and deep valleys with fast running streams waiting to wash exhausted and sick troopers away in each. Over 200 inches of rainfall each year. Oh and don’t forget the cannibals and head hunters, and the Japanese Army, plus Crocs, and a bumpercrop of snakes.

Jody made this comment:

Jody Gosselin Says:

“My grandfather Ferrell B Bower was interviewed by Mr. Campbell for this work of art. My grandfather served with the 32nd Red Arrow division from Muskegon MI, and never really talked to us about the war he served. It is amazing what those guys went through. He is now 86 years old, and spry as ever.”

Your grandfather is one tough guy Jody.

Nancy Pelosi hasn’t done this much.

Iraqi Army at Besmaya Installation Support San Diego Fire Victims
By U.S. Army Sgt 1st Class Charlene Sipperly Multi-National Security Transition Command – Iraq Public Affairs

BAGHDAD, Iraq — Members of the Iraqi Army in Besmaya collected a donation for the San Diego, Calif., fire victims Thursday night at the Besmaya Range Complex in a moving ceremony to support Besmaya’s San Diego residents.

Iraqi Army Col. Abbass, the commander of the complex, presented a gift of $1,000 to U.S. Army Col. Darel Maxfield, Besmaya Range Complex officer in charge, Multi-National Security Transition Command Iraq, to send to the fire victims in California.

The money was collected from Iraqi officers and enlisted soldiers in Besmaya. In a speech given during the presentation, Col. Abbass stated that he and the Iraqi soldiers were connected with the American people in many ways, and they will not forget the help that the American government has given the Iraqi people. Abbass was honored to participate by sending a simple fund of $1,000 to the American people in San Diego, to lower the suffering felt by the tragedy.”

Project Valor IT Starts Today.

Monday, October 29th, 2007

The story below was lifted from Michelle Malkin:

Project Valour-IT began when Charles “Chuck” Ziegenfuss was wounded by an IED while serving as commander of a tank company in Iraq in June 2005.

During his deployment he kept a blog (an online personal diary, opinion forum, or news analysis site-called a milblog or military weblog when written by a servicemember or about military subjects). Captivating writing, insightful stories of his experiences, and his self-deprecating humor won him many loyal readers. After he was wounded, his wife continued his blog, keeping his readers informed of his condition.

As he began to recover, CPT Ziegenfuss wanted to return to writing his blog, but serious hand injuries hampered his typing. When a loyal and generous reader gave him a copy of the Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred software, other readers began to realize how important such software could be to CPT Ziegenfuss’ fellow wounded soldiers and started cast about for a way to get it to them.

A fellow blogger (blog author) who writes under the pseudonym FbL contacted Captain Ziegenfuss and the two realized they shared a vision of providing laptops with voice-controlled software to wounded soldiers whose injuries prevented them from operating a standard computer. FbL contacted Soldiers Angels, who offered to help develop the project, and Project Valour-IT was born.

In sharing their thoughts, CPT Ziegenfuss and FbL found that memories of their respective fathers were a motivating factor in their work with the project. Both continue their association with this project in memory of the great men in their lives whose fine examples taught them lasting lessons of courage and generosity.”

Here is the link to the Marine Team…. but you can find the Army Team, Navy and Air Force there too. If you are a civilian pick a team to join and contribute. The rivalry is friendly and all the money goes to buy laptops and voice activated software for wounded warriors in hospitals.

The amount you contribute does not matter $5.00 or $500.00. It all ads up and all goes to help out a wounded service member.

By the way it would help too if you called your favorite local radio station and asked to have a public service announcement made to support this.

Thanks for all you do and ….. GO MARINES!!
